Aluminox wins the contract to supply the new Galley and Laundry Equipment for Aranoa, a new chapter for Aranui Cruises

We are proud to participate in this special project and work along side with the great team of Aranui Cruises

Aranui Cruises, the iconic operator in French Polynesia, is expanding its fleet with a stunning new vessel: Aranoa. Currently under construction at the Huanghai Shipbuilding facility in Shandong, China, this mixed passenger–freighter ship is set to debut in 2027, marking a significant milestone for the company and for sustainable tourism in the South Pacific.

What Makes Aranoa Special?

  • Length & Capacity: 116 meters long, designed to accommodate 198 passengers across 93 cabins, including 62 with private balconies.

  • Dual Purpose: Like its sister ship, Aranui 5, Aranoa will carry both cargo and passengers, servicing remote islands while offering boutique cruising experiences.

  • Onboard Amenities: Two restaurants, two bars, a lounge, a boutique, a fitness center, a wellness spa, and two spa pools. A unique highlight is the Polynesian tattoo salon, continuing Aranui’s cultural legacy at sea.

  • Eco-Friendly Design: Equipped with modern technology to minimize environmental impact, including noise-reduction systems and efficient propulsion.

A Name with Meaning

Aranoa” translates to “great awakening” in Tahitian—a fitting name for a ship that promises to open new horizons for travelers seeking authentic Polynesian experiences.

Where Will Aranoa Sail?

Aranoa will chart a bold course to the Austral Islands, a remote and untouched region of French Polynesia. Its itineraries will include:

  • Tubuai, Rurutu, Rimatara, Raivavae, and Rapa Iti—often called the “Bora Bora of the south.”

  • Special voyages to Pitcairn, the Tuamotus, and a cultural itinerary for the Marquesas Arts Festival in 2027.

Why It Matters

This project is more than a cruise expansion—it’s a commitment to inclusive tourism and community development. By transporting essential goods and fostering sustainable visitor flows, Aranoa will help create economic opportunities for the Austral Islands while preserving their cultural heritage
